Deborah was born in 1748 in , Cape May, NJ.1 Deborah's father was Peter Corson and her mother was Rachel Garretson. Her paternal grandparents were Peter Corson and Deborah Townsend. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Benajah, Darius, Remington, Peter, Levi, Jesse, Zabiah, Rebecca, Rachel and Elizabeth. She was the youngest of the eleven children.-
