Barbara (Basia) was born on May 13th, 1950 in Wellington, New Zealand and her baptism was conducted by the priest.1   Barbara (Basia)'s father was Ginter (Gienek) Poczwa and her mother is Urszula Poczwa (Gawronek).  Her paternal grandparents were Maksymilian (?) Poczwa and Marta Poczwa (Małkowska); her maternal grandparents were Michał Gawronek and Henryka Gawronek (Skrzypczyńska). She had two brothers and a sister, named Henryk, Zygmunt and Aleksandra (Ola).  She is the oldest of the four children.
