Alice was born about 1892 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.1 Alice's father was John Elkington and her mother was Mary Hannah Lewis. Her paternal grandparents were William Elkington and Alice Hartley ; her maternal grandparents are William Lewis and <Unknown>. She had three brothers and five sisters, named William, John, Hannah, Sarah, Emily, Elizabeth Alice, Elizabeth Alice and Mary . She was the youngest of the nine children.-
