Alexander was born on August 8th, 1886 in South Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.1  Alexander's father was Alexander Mitchell and his mother was Hanna Arthur.  His paternal grandparents are David F. Mitchell and Betsy M.; his maternal grandparents are John Arthur and Catherine McQuaid. He had a brother and two sisters, named John, Margaret and Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 30 on February 26th, 1917 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.1
