Ricardo, known as Richard, was born on February 7th, 1931 in Lajas, Puerto Rico.1   Richard's father was Domingo José Ponce de León-Rivera and his mother was Josefa Pagán.  His paternal grandparents were José Florentino Ponce de León-Nazario de Figueroa and María Juliana Rivera-González.  He had five brothers and a sister, named Juan, Angel, Pepín, Minguín, Cano and Gloria.  He had a half-brother named Miguel.  He died at the age of 77 on September 9th, 2008 in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico.  The funeral took place on September 13th, 2008 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and was arranged by Mayagüez Memorial.  His burial was on September 13th, 2008 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
