Sarah was born in 1800 in Trimley St. Mary,Suffolk and her baptism took place there on May 14th, 1800.1   Sarah's father was Robert Topple and her mother was Martha Cook.  Her maternal grandparents were Robert Cook and Elizabeth Howchin. She had three brothers and a sister, named Robert, John, George and Mary.  She was the fourth oldest of the five children. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Samuel, Isaac, Henry, Lydia and Elizabeth.
