András' father was László Körtvélyessy and his mother was Éva Silbernágel.  His paternal grandparents were Ferenc Körtvélyessy and Mária Müller. He had a sister named Erika.  He was the older of the two children. He had a half-brother named László.  He died at the age of 61 in 2001.
