Claes (Cam) Anders Malachi O'Donnell 
Claes, known as Cam, was born on February 17th, 1916. Cam's father was Charles Joseph O'Donnell and his mother was Hylda Marea Sophia Australia Adelskold. His paternal grandparents were Andrew O'Donnell and Bridget (Kate) Catherine Connelly; his maternal grandparents were Claes Anders Adelskold and Anna Maria Svensson-Linde. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Gus, John, Baby Charles, Paul, Peter, Joan, Esta and Wendy. He died at the age of 63 on March 30th, 1979 in Ballarat, Victoria. He was buried in Swan Hill, Victoria.1 General Notes
Cam was the only one of Charles and Hilda’s children to stay in the Swan Hill district. After he and Geraldine were married they lived in Balranald (sixty miles north of Swan Hill) until 1966, and then returned to Swan Hill. The children were born in Swan Hill because the Balranald hospital didn’t have air conditioning—summer temperatures are often as high as 40 degrees.
