Elizabeth was born about 1879 in Hackney, Middlesex, England. Elizabeth's father was James Munro and her mother was Agnes Blair Forsyth. Her paternal grandparents were James Munro and Elizabeth Paul; her maternal grandparents were Robert Forsyth and Agnes Blair. She had four brothers and a sister, named James, David, William, Claude and Agnes.
