David was born in 1887 in Queensland.  David's father was James Munro and his mother was Agnes Blair Forsyth.  His paternal grandparents were James Munro and Elizabeth Paul; his maternal grandparents were Robert Forsyth and Agnes Blair. He had three brothers and two sisters, named James, William, Claude, Elizabeth and Agnes.
