Martha was born in 1837 in Stone, Staffordshire, UK.  Martha's father is Ephraim BOX and her mother is Mary DAY.  Her paternal grandparents are Joseph BOX and Jane ASTBURY. She had a brother and four sisters, named Enoch, Eliza, Esther, Mary and Louisa.  She is the fifth oldest of the six children.
