Roger was born on March 23rd, 1931.  Roger's father was Pedro Manuel Silva Martinez and his mother is Enriqueta Arias Rodriguez.  His paternal grandparents were Juan Felipe Silva Calderon and Cristina Martinez Avila. He has four sisters named Aida, Carmen Cristina, Migdalia and Enriqueta.  He is the second oldest of the five children.
