Migdalia was born on September 7th, 1937.  Migdalia's father was Pedro Manuel Silva Martinez and her mother is Enriqueta Arias Rodriguez.  Her paternal grandparents were Juan Felipe Silva Calderon and Cristina Martinez Avila. She has a brother and three sisters, named Roger, Aida, Carmen Cristina and Enriqueta.  She is the fourth oldest of the five children.
