Pedro Manuel was born on February 23rd, 1903 in Guanape.  Pedro Manuel's father was Juan Felipe Silva Calderon and his mother was Cristina Martinez Avila.  His paternal grandparents are Manuel de Jesus Silva and Maria Calderon; his maternal grandparents were Pedro Jose Martinez Luz and Carmelita Avila. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Jesus Maria, Manuel Edmundo, Pedro Felipe, Juan Felipe, Maria del Carmen, Maria Concepcion, Carmen Rafaela, Maria Teodora and Maria Cristina.  He was the eighth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 72 on October 7th, 1975 in Caracas.
