María Magdalena was born in 1800 in Cumana.  María Magdalena's father was Vicente De Sucre y García de Urbaneja and her mother was María Manuela De Alcalá y Sánchez.  Her paternal grandparents are Antonio De Sucre and Josefa Margarita García de Urbaneja y Sanchez; her maternal grandfather was Pedro De Alcalá y Rendón and her maternal grandmother is Juana Geronima Sanchez Vallenilla. She had six brothers and two sisters, named José María, José Jerónimo, Vicente, Pedro, Antonio José, Francisco, María Josefa and María Agua Santa.  She was the youngest of the nine children. She had a half-brother named Juan Manuel.  She died at the age of 14 on October 16th, 1814 in Cumana.
