Robert "the Bruce" I King of was born on July 11th, 1274 in Writtle Near Chelmsford, Essex, England.1   Robert "the Bruce" I King of's father was Robert Bruce and his mother was Marjorie de Carrick.  His paternal grandparents were Robert "the Competitor" Bruce and Isobel de Clare; his maternal grandparents were Earl Of Carrick Neal and Margaret Stewart. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Thomas, Alexander, Neil, Christian (Christina), Mary, Matilda, Margaret, Euphemia and Isabella. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Edward and Isabel.  He died at the age of 54 on June 7th, 1329 in Cardross, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.  He was buried on June 12th, 1329 in Dunferline Abbey, Fifeshire, Scotland.1 1
