William Petty

William was born in 1889 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England.¹ William's father was James Tomlin Petty and his mother was Eliza Firth. His paternal grandparents were William Petty and Margaret Tomlin. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Herbert, James Luth, David Faith, Douglas, Florence, Sarah M, Eliza and Ida. He was the seventh oldest of the nine children.
