Violet's father was William Owen Williams and her mother was Ellen Griffiths.  Her paternal grandparents were William Owen Williams and Catherine Griffiths; her maternal grandparents were John Griffiths and Catherine Roberts. She had four brothers and two sisters, named William, Thomas, Robert, Lewis, Mary and Catherine.  She died in 1971 in Queensland.1

‌Violet and John were married in a religious ceremony in 1932.
