Robert's father was George Faucett ((FAWSETT)) Jr and his mother was Hannah Scott. His paternal grandparents were George Faucett and Elizabeth Mercer. He had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Thomas, Samuel, Sarah, Annie, Mary, Martha and Palatiah. He was the oldest of the nine children.
