Björn's father was Harald I. "Haarfanger" Yngling and his mother is Svanhild Hedemarken, ov.  His paternal grandfather was Halfdan "the Black" Yngling and his paternal grandmother is Ragnhild Ringerike, ov. He had two brothers named Ragnar Rykkil and Olaf. He had seventeen half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Guttorm, Halfdan "the Black", Sigröd, Halfdan Hvide, Rörek, Siggtrygg, Frode, Thorgils, Sigurd Hrise, Halfdan, Gudröd Ljome, Ragnvald Rettilbein, Ring, Dag, Gudröd Skirja, Eirik I. "Blodöre", Hakon "the Good", Alof Aarbod, Ingegerd and Ingeborg.  He died in 0934.
