Kristian Gabriel was born on February 19th, 1832 in Praha.  Kristian Gabriel's father was Josef Matyáš Thun-Hohenstein and his mother was Františka Romana Thun-Hohenstein.  His paternal grandfather was Josef Jan Thun-Hohenstein and his paternal grandmother is Marie Josefa Schrattenbach, von; his maternal grandparents were Antonín de Paula Josef Adalbert Thun-Hohenstein and Terezie Vratislavová z Mitrovic. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Josef Oswald I., Maximilian Josef, Quidobald Josef Antonín, Sigmund Ignác, Jindøich Jan Nepomuk, Karel Boromhäus Emanuel, Christiana and Filipina.  He was the seventh oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 2 on May 14th, 1834 in Praha.
