František was born on May 31st, 1874 in Smíchov.  František's father was František Seraf Josef Ringhoffer and his mother was Františka "Fanny" Klein von Wisenberg.  His paternal grandparents were František Ringhoffer and Josefina Schallowetz; his maternal grandparents are František Klein von Wisenberg and Leopoldine Hauptmann. He had two brothers and a sister, named Alfred, Hanuš and Leopoldina "Dinka".  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 66 on November 30th, 1940 in Praha.
