Alfred was born on January 17th, 1880 in Štiøín.  Alfred's father was František Seraf Josef Ringhoffer and his mother was Františka "Fanny" Klein von Wisenberg.  His paternal grandparents were František Ringhoffer and Josefina Schallowetz; his maternal grandparents are František Klein von Wisenberg and Leopoldine Hauptmann. He had two brothers and a sister, named František, Hanuš and Leopoldina "Dinka".  He was the third oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 58 on May 6th, 1938 in Praha.
