Anna was born in 1770. Anna's father was Friedrich Erdmann Anhalt-Köthen, von and her mother was Luise Stolberg-Wernigerode, von. Her paternal grandparents were August Anhalt-Köthen, von and Emilie Promnitz, von. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Ernst, Friedrich Ferdinand, Georg, Heinrich, Friedrich, Ludwig, Benedikte and Christiane. She was the third oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 60 in 1830.
