Constanza was born in 1343. Constanza's father was Obizzo III. Este, d' and her mother was Lippa Ariosto. Her paternal grandparents were Aldobrandino II. Este, d' and Alda Rangoni; her maternal grandfather is Giacomo Ariosto. She had three brothers named Folco, Ugo and Alberto I.. She was the second oldest of the four children. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Rinaldo II., Aldobrandino III., Niccolo II., Azzo, Beatrice, Alda and Alisia. She died at the age of 49 in 1392.
