Thriguna Bai's father was Hanumantha Rao Naidu Vallabha and her mother was Laxmi Mani (Manamma) (Collur) Vallabha.  Her paternal grandparents were Sri Vallabha Veera Venkata  Jeer Naidu Vallabha and Rangamma (Venkatamma) Vallabha. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Prabhakar Rao, Madhukar Rao, Damodhar Rao, Chandrashekhar, Susheela (Vallabha), Savithri Bai, Sunithi Bai, Padma Bai (Vallabha), Prema Bai (Vallabha) and Thejasweni.  She is the sixth oldest of the eleven children.
