Michael's father was John Reney and his mother was Mary Ann. His paternal grandparents were John Rainy and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Edward, William, George, Lizzie, Anne, Clair, Delia, Eileen, Katey and Mary.

Death Notes
- Mike Reany, after making his fortune in USA, returned to Ballymena, Northern Ireland, and went into business there. Mike sold his business in the North & bought EP Murry's shop & pub in Main St., Roscommon in 1923. He continued in business in Main St. until the late 1930s or early 1940s until he was declared bankrupt. As a result of the business going bankrupt Mike Reany served some time in prison. Mike Reany died in Scotland and is buried there. He suffered from Hodgkin's Disease.
