Clair's father was John Reney and her mother was Mary Ann. Her paternal grandparents were John Rainy and <Unknown>. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Edward, William, Michael, George, Lizzie, Anne, Delia, Eileen, Katey and Mary. She died at the age of 82 on July 29th, 1976. She was buried in Oran.²
