Francis, known as Frank, was born on July 8th, 1864 in Correal.  Frank's father was James Moran and his mother was Bridget Carthy.  His paternal grandparents were Nicholas Moran and Anne (Kate) Curley. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Joe, Nick, Jimmie, George, Ned, Nannie and Mollie.  He was the third youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 76 on July 11th, 1940.  He was buried at the Athleague old churchyard.1
