Helena was born in 1894.  Helena's father was John Haughey and her mother is Ellen McCann.  Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Haughey and Elizabeth Cronin. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named Patrick, James, Thomas, Daniel, John, Michael, Bernard, Charles, Mary and Bridget.  She was the youngest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 78 in 1972 in Rookwood.
