Mária was born on September 11th, 1870 in Bekölce 26 and her christening took place on September 11th, 1870 in Balaton conducted by priest Holmer József.1   Her godfather was Holló Ferenc and her godmother was Utassy Mária.  Mária's father was István Hossó (Inas) and her mother was Rozál Dorkó.  Her paternal grandparents were Hossó and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Dorkó and <Unknown>. She had four brothers and three sisters, named István (Pestu), Lojzi, József, Kálmán, Angyél, Veron and Rozál.  She was the oldest of the eight children.
