Phillip VI, known as The Fortunate, was born in 1293.  The Fortunate's father was Charles (Count of Valois) and his mother was Margaret (Countess of Anjou).  His paternal grandparents were Philip III “The Bold” (King of France) and Isabella of Aragon. He had a sister named Joan.  He was the older of the two known children.  He died at the age of 57 in 1350.
