4 Jan 1319 received a royal charter of the lands of Bridburgh. Bridburgh was part of the confiscated lands of the Comyns
Captured with his brother Roger during the fatal battle of Halidon on 19th July 1333
This is the first mention of the names Elizabeth and Margaret, they have since been borne by very many ladies of the Kirkpatrick family.
Years after his brother Rogers murder by James Lindsay,a young Kirkpatrick lass ,Margaret , met the grandson of James Lindsay at Holyrood Court and fell in love,ignoring or forgetting the feudal duty of eternal hatred On her departure young Linday was quickly seized by her fathers men and thrown into the castle dungeon,to rot.Margaret was sent into orders.After a time her father realised that she was not prepared to reject young Lindsay , and finally gave his blessing to their marriage.
