García Sánchez III was born in November 1016.  García Sánchez III's father was Sancho III (King of Navarre) and his mother was Mayor of Castile.  His paternal grandparents were García Sánchez II of Pamplona (King of Navarre) and Jimena Fernández of Cea. He had two brothers named Ramiro I and Ferdinand I.  He was the youngest of the three known children.  He died at the age of 37 on September 1st, 1054.
