Thomas' father was William D'Oyly (of Hulcombe) and his mother was Margery Abbington. His paternal grandparents were John “the famose souldier” D'Oyly and Isabella Moore. He had a brother named Robert.General Notes

Thomas D'Oyly, Gent. elder son and heir, a minor in 1549, succeeded his father at Hulcombe in Newington, but sold his estate there,[639] and marrying Alice, daughter of — Barentyne of Haseley Court, co. Oxon., widow of John Willmott of Stadhampton in the same shire,[640] became concerned, if not resident, at Stadhampton, where this branch of the family occasionally resided for long after. The Barentyne arms were "Sable, three eagles displayed argent." Thomas D'Oyly had issue, however, only a nameless daughter, who died s.p., whereupon his brother became heir of the family.
