John's father was Richard D'Oyly and his mother was ???. His paternal grandparents were Robert D'Oyly and Christiana. He had a brother and a sister, named Thomas and Anna.General Notes
II. John D'Oyly, a priest, Rector of Ewelme, co. Oxon, prior to 1350, which in November that year he exchanged (probably for the purpose of residing near Thomas D'Oyly) for the vicarage of Potterne, co. Wilts.[203] In 1359 he was Vicar of Hawkesbury, in the adjoining county of Gloucester, as appears by a writ issued 24 Jan, 32 Edw. III. to inquire regarding lands and rents, at Hawksbury and elsewhere, co. Glouc., held by him and John Wynebald, for the abbot and convent of Pershore.[204]
