Afonso V “The African” (King of Portugal) 
Afonso V, known as The African, was born on January 15th, 1432. The African's father was Duarte I “The Eloquent” (King of Portugal) and his mother was Eleanor of Aragon. His paternal grandparents were João I “The Good” (King of Portugal) and Philippa of Lancaster; his maternal grandparents were Ferdinand I “The Just” (King of Aragon) and Eleanor of Alburquerque. He had a brother and a sister, named Ferdinand and Eleanor. He was the oldest of the three known children. He died at the age of 49 on August 28th, 1481.-
