Henry was born in 1847 in Eccleston.1   Henry's father was Henry Winstanley and his mother was Margaret Williams.  His maternal grandparents were Samuel Williams and Ann Millington. He had four sisters named Ann, Mary, Margaret and Alice.  He was the fourth oldest of the five children.
