Frances' father was John Williams and her mother was Hannah Jones.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Williams and Ann Millington. She had three brothers and five sisters, named William, Thomas, John, Elizabeth, Hannah, Catherine, Ann and Mary.  She was the youngest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 6 in April 1858 in Holywell.²
