Elizabeth was born on June 11th, 1825 in Farnworth and her baptism took place on September 4th, 1825 at St. Saviour (Ringley).1  Elizabeth's father was Simon Stones and her mother was Mary Hardman.  Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Stones and Ann Mather. She had a brother and five sisters, named William, Ann, Betty, Mary, Alice and Sarah.  She was the youngest of the seven children.
