Mary was born in February 1704 in Kirkheaton and her baptism took place there on February 25th, 1704.1  Mary's father was Joshua Stocks and her mother was Elizabeth Bingley. She had two brothers and a sister, named Joshua, Emanuel and Mary.  She was the second oldest of the four children.
