Robert was born in October 1825 in Pendleton and his baptism took place on October 16th, 1825 in Great Harwood.1  Robert's father was John Oliverson and his mother was Esther Baron. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Christopher, Barry, James, John, Isabella and Nanny.  He was the second youngest of the seven children.
