Solomon's father was
Richard Mather and his mother was
Ann Howarth. His paternal grandparents were
John Mather and
Ellen Blinstone; his maternal grandparents were
Edmund Howarth and
Anne. He had three brothers and five sisters, named
Isaac,
James,
Richard,
Susannah,
Susan,
Nancy,
Ann and
Alice. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died due to natural causes or old age, Fits, at the age of 76 on November 30th, 1844 in
Sharples.

Death Certificate:
Solomon died of "Fits" 30th Nov 1844 at Old Ellen's, Sharples aged 76. His occupation was "Husband of Martha Mather, Hand-Loom Weaver".
The informant was Richard Mather, Occupier present at the death at Old Ellen's, Sharples.
Note: In 1841, Solomon (aged 70) was living at "Old Nells" with his young daughter Ann (aged 25). This is probably the same place.
