Richard Mather

Richard was born in November 1769 in Whitefield and his baptism took place on February 1st, 1770 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).¹

Richard's father was William Mather and his mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Ingram.  His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Joanna Hilton. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, William, Samuel, Mary and Margaret.  He was the third oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 72 in May 1842 in Radcliffe.  He was buried on May 5th, 1842 in Radcliffe.²

  "Hardy, son of Richard" died in 1849, so it appears Richard may still have been alive then.
