Mary Austin Mather

Mary was born in December 1844 in Breightmet and her baptism took place on March 9th, 1845 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹²

Mary's father was James Mather and her mother was Martha Austin. Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Brabin. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, Elizabeth, Ellen and Ann. She was the youngest of the six children. She died at the age of 48 in June 1893 in Blackburn.³

- Mary lived with her mother till at least 1861. She was gone by 1871.
  
  In 1867, Mary Austin Mather married john Crowther (a carpenter) at Breightmet St James. John and Mary lived with Mary's mother after they married (in 1871).
  
  In 1881, John had become a Beer Seller in Little Bolton. John and Mary (37 & 36) had no children.
