Lettice's father was John Mather and her mother was Jane (Jennet) Partington.  Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Mary Meadowcroft. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William, John, Isaac, Isaac, Lettice, Catherine and Mary.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 44 in January 1823 in Bolton.  She was buried on January 9th, 1823 at St. Mary (Deane).^2 3
