Leah was born in 1837 in Whitefield.¹

Birth Notes

Leah's father was Jesse Mather and her mother was Hannah Emmerson. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Margaret Scholes. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Robert, James, Joseph, Nathan, Aaron, Betty, Ellen, Hannah, Mary, Sarah and Rachel. She had an adopted sister named Esther.
