John Mather

John was born on December 12th, 1786 in Redvales and his baptism took place on December 17th, 1786 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury).¹

John's father was Francis Mather and his mother was Elizabeth Chadwick. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Richard, John, Francis, James, Mary, Hannah, Sally, Hannah and Esther.  He was the oldest of the ten children.  He died at 10 months old on October 20th, 1787 in Redvales.  He was buried on October 21st, 1787 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury).¹
