John Mather

John was born in September 1848 in Holcombe.¹

John's father was Thomas Mather and his mother was Margaret Brown. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Ann Entwistle. He had three brothers and a sister, named James, George, Thomas and Agnes. He was the second oldest of the five children.
