John Mather

John was born on January 31st, 1790 in Bamber Bridge and his baptism took place on February 28th, 1790 in Walton-le-Dale.¹

John's father was Thomas Mather and his mother was Jenny Rigby. His paternal grandparents were Joshua Mather and Margaret Fielden. He had four brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Richard, Richard, Robert and Jenny. He was the third oldest of the six children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Joshua, Thomas and Mary. He died at the age of 29 in January 1819 in Walton-le-Dale. His burial was on January 23rd, 1819 in Walton-le-Dale.²

- There are no Bolton marriages for John and Mary 1805-1815. John was from either Walton-le-Dale or Leigh (based on marriage records). Leigh has now been eliminated (that is John the Mechanic).
  
  In 1811, John married Mary at Walton-le-Dale, St Leonard.
  
  John died at Kittlingburn, Walton-le-Dale aged 29. Burial records also show Thomas (1750-1821) and Jane Mather (1750-1823) died at Kittlingburn, Walton but are they the same parents?
